Prayers and Blessings

“Prayers go up and blessings come down”

I’ve been worried about my son’s recurring fever these past few days. We brought Yohan to the doctor yesterday and found out it wasn’t tonsillitis as earlier presumed. The doctor requested for some lab tests. I There were a lot of sick kids and I was told that dengue cases are rising. I really hope that a vaccine for dengue can formulated soon because it has become a huge health threat in the country.

We got the results after less than an hour. I’m grateful that the lab results came out normal. The doctor said to continue observing our son but I’m very optimistic everything will be alright. God is good.

Not So Good Weekend

My weekend didn’t go so well because my son had on and off fever.  We had to miss two parties lined up for the weekend due to my Yohan’s condition. Hubby and I stayed home taking care of our little boy.  Yohan felt a little better by Sunday evening. We decided not to let Yohan go to school the next day so he could rest. He had fever again on Monday afternoon but it soon disappeared after we gave him a dose of paracetamol. We noticed that Yohan has inflamed tonsils.

Yohan is feeling better this morning so I let him go to school today. However, I feel restless thinking about him.  Hubby and I are bringing him to the doctor later to be certain if he has tonsillitis or not. I don’t want to make my own diagnosis. I think it’s best if he sees a doctor so that he can be prescribed the proper medicines. I just hope and pray that his fever won’t come back anymore.

Cataract Removal

Tomorrow I will be accompanying my yaya (nanny) to the hospital for removal of cataract. It is her first time to have an operation. She is putting up a brave front but I know deep inside that she is scared. I keep reassuring her that everything will be fine. My husband and I will be there with her to give her moral support. Everyone in the family is also praying for her.

Getting Better

Filed under: All About Rachel, Health — Tags: — rachel @ 7:59 pm

A few days rest and I feel a whole lot better.  The problem is my voice. It’s still hoarse. I stopped drinking anything cold since the onset of my cough because it hurts my throat. I hope my voice will be back to normal soon.

With the swine flu cases escalating and people being afraid to do the things they usually do, what precautions do you do to protect yourself and your family?

The H1N1 virus is becoming more and more alarming. We try our best to avoid overly crowded places.  I always bring alcohol and baby wipes with me. My son’s bag also has alcohol, baby wipes and small liquid soap. Frequent washing of hands has always been an old habit so nothing has changed in that aspect.

Sometimes people close to us find themselves lost in the road of life.  It’s easy to judge them and simply look away but if we really care for them, we should learn to give them another chance.  There are rehabilitation centers that are dedicated in helping people find their way back to normal and healthy living.

Legal Help For Mesothelioma Victims

Filed under: Health, Info Corner — Tags: , — rachel @ 4:21 pm

I mentioned in one of my earlier posts that cancer is the disease that I dread most.  Cancer is sometimes referred to as the Big C.  Cancer brings suffering not only to the patient but also to the people close to that person.

Cancer is sometimes hereditary, however, there are some types of cancer brought about by exposure to dangerous substances.  Over exposure to asbestos, for example, is known to cause the development of mesothelioma and lung cancer.  Mesothelioma lawyers are dedicated to help mesothelioma victims recover from asbestos manufacturers.

With a long list of women’s health concerns, what is it that you dread to hear the doctor say to you?

Q: With a long list of women’s health conerns, what is it that you dreadto hear the doctor say to you?

I hope and pray that I will be spared from any form of cancer.  It’s a terrible disease that can bring both physical and emotional pain.  The available procedures to fight cancer are expensive and often do not give assurance of full recovery.  Chemotherapy for example is a known cure to combat cancer cells, however, this procedure also attacks healthy cell which leads to many negative side effects.
