I love spending time with my family. Being a stay-at-home (SAHM) gives me an opportunity to spend quality time with my husband and son. There are many advantages of being a SAHM. I am able to personally take care of my family’s needs especially my son’s. It’s rewarding to witness my son’s wonderful milestones in life. Watching him grow up, discover things on his own and learn new things each day is heartwarming. I am also able to monitor my son’s progress in school. I help him with his homework and school projects. I just had a parent-teacher conference last week and I am very happy about the teacher’s positive feed back about Yohan’s development in school.
I am happy to have discovered blogging. I enjoy writing about everyday slices of life especially things about my son. I gained many friends through blogging and it also opened an opportunity for me to earn some income as a SAHM. IZEA has given me this wonderful opportunity. It feels great that I am able to bring in extra income for the family.

I started my first blog, Heart of Rachel in 2004.
- What inspired you to write a blog and who are your mentors?
At first I had no direction, I just wanted to rant about a past experience then gradually, I became more interested in blogging. I was inspired by Toni’s blog called Wifely Steps.

Writing special memories, building friendships and learning new things.
- What are the three things that you struggle with in the online world?
Lack of time to visit all my blog friends, occasional technical difficulties and days when I seem to lack the inspiration to write.
I’m grateful to my friend Tina for giving me my own personal domain and for sponsoring my web hosting for two years. For those who do not know yet, Tina sponsored a contest on her blog last year. The object was to invite fellow bloggers to visit her site. The person who invited the most number of bloggers won the contest. The winner won 5 years worth of free web hosting plan plus personal domain. I did not win but I had a great time. Knowing that my fellow bloggers supported me on my quest to win the contest was already a prize by itself.
To my astonishment and delight, Tina announced that she was going to give me a prize for my efforts. I was so touched when she said she was going to award me with my own domain and web hosting for two years.
I’m grateful that Tina gave me a chance to widen my opportunities to blog for money and be able to be productive at home. It’s a wonderful opportunity for me especially as a stay-at-home mom.
