I woke up a little late this morning and I wasn’t able to watch the start of American Idol (AI). Today happens to be the grand finale of AI. I was very happy when my AI favorite, Lee DeWyze was proclaimed American Idol winner. He is the 9th AI winner.
When Lee was asked why he thinks he is the next American Idol, he replied, “Because there’s a time and place for everything, and this is my time and my place.” Lee was shy and timid guy during the start of AI. I like him because of his soulful voice and his expressive eyes. I also like his down-to-earth attitude.
When he was proclaimed the winner, Lee was loss for words and teary eyed. He told Ryan (host of the show), “I’m just happy, man. I’ve never been happier in my life. I appreciate everything everybody has done.” Lee embraced his contender, Crystal Bowersox and told her he loves her with sincere affection.
My husband loves watching Top Gear. He loves watching this documentary about cars. The show interjects a little bit of light comedy. Although I’m not really into cars, I enjoy watching Top Gear shows every now and then. I find the trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond very amusing. Now the show has a new fan in the family … my six year old son. He was watching a re-run of the show when I heard him excitedly shout to his Dad, “Michael Schumacher is the Stig!” My son is so eager to watch past Top Gear episodes. When I asked him what his favorite car is … he replied, “I love Ferrano!”
I’m sad about today’s American Idol results. I was really hoping that Adam Lambert would win. He’s a great singer and performer. Kris Allen was proclaimed the winner of this season’s American Idol. In fairness, Kris is a good singer too and quite charming. I’m sad that Adam didn’t get the title but I realized that he doesn’t really need one to succeed. I’m sure he’ll still make it big.
I was walking in our garden when I spotted this tiny mushroom. It has a translucent kind of cap. When I was a child I was fascinated with them. There was a time I associated mushrooms with Smurfs.
Do you remember the cartoons about those cute blue creatures? The Smurfs live in mushroom houses in a village hidden deep in the forest. It was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a young girl.
When I saw the mushroom in the garden it brought back some wonderful memories of my childhood. Life was so simple and carefree back then.
