Online Passport Appointment System

There are a lot of airline passenger seat sales this quarter. Many offers are tempting because of the low rates.  It’s perfect because it coincides with sale season in nearby Asian countries like Hong Kong and Singapore.  I think it’s about time my husband renews his passport while my son and I get new passports.

I’m glad that I can now easily set a Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) passport appointment online through http://www.passport.com.ph/. I checked the site and it includes all the important things you need to remember when applying for a passport. The site have different informative sections such as What to Expect, How to set an Appointment, Documentary Requirements and Passport Fees. I will complete all the necessary documents and set an appointment as soon as possible.

Dead Sea is a Fascinating Wonder

I think that the Dead Sea is a fascinating place. It’s one of the world’s greatest wonders because it’s one of a kind place. It’s truly amazing that the Dead Sea is 400 meters below sea level. It’s an interesting destination every traveler would be delighted to visit. Just imagine the excitement of being able to visit the lowest point on earth.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usI’ve heard how the Dead Sea’s extreme concentration of salt makes it impossible for any life form to thrive in it. This is the reason behind the name Dead Sea. The salt concentration, however, is beneficial to people. The salinity of the Dead Sea aids in the healing process of people suffering from various ailments. The Dead Sea has become a popular health haven for many people from different parts of the globe. Some have coined the place as the “lowest health spa in the world.” The salt and minerals in the water are responsible for the healing properties of the Dead Sea. Thus making it a sought after destination by many. There are great Dead Sea hotels that travelers can choose when they go there for a vacation.  These hotels have great amenities.

Aside from salts and minerals, the Dead Sea is also known for its deposits of black mud. People have discovered that the black mud is ideal for the skin. Applying the mud directly on the skin creates a nourishing effect. Even the air surrounding the Dead Sea has great benefits because of the presence of bromide in the air.

Aside from its amazing health benefits, the Dead Sea also has interesting historic sites. It is where the ancient Dead Scrolls were found. The ancient scrolls were found between the years 1947 and 1956. They are considered as the greatest manuscripts discovered during modern times. The Dead Scrolls give us an interesting view point of early Christianity and the Essences sect.

The Dead Sea is a really an interesting and intriguing place for travel making it ideal for tourism. A place as rich and fascinating as this is worthy of being acknowledged. I think that the Dead Sea would be worthy of becoming part of the new seven wonders of nature.

Weekend at the Beach

Filed under: Family, Fun Times, Travel — Tags: — rachel @ 5:59 pm

We took advantage of the long weekend by having a nice family getaway. We went to Laiya San Juan, Batangas.  My husband and I had a great time snorkeling and our son enjoyed making sand castles.  The weekend is over too soon. I wish we could have a longer vacation but it’s back to school for my son tomorrow.

My mother-in-law is the States for a 6-month vacation. Her first stop is California. She’ll be staying with her sister for a few weeks. I’m sure she’s already enjoying her first few days there. She’s looking forward to spending quality time with her sister, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.  She also plans to go on a Chicago travel.  My mother-in-law also hopes to visit my parents in New York.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church

My family and I visited Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, one of the famous churches in Lipa City Batangas. This church is famous for the miraculous shower of rose petals that happened at the Carmelite convent in Lipa City last January 24, 1991.  Below are photos of the church and the beautiful image of Our Lady of Mediatrix.

Visit Great Restaurants in Canada

Canada is a beautiful country worth exploring. Canada has many key cities that have its own unique and interesting attractions and destinations. Among the great cities in Canada that I find worth looking into are Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver. I have read, watched and heard many wonderful things about these beautiful cities and hope that someday I will get the chance to visit each one.

Calgary is nestled in the foothills of Canada’s Rocky Mountains and said to be the Heart of the New West. I have seen many beautiful pictures of Calgary from the web and from my friend who lives there with her family. What I find incredibly interesting about Calgary is its breathtaking view of the mountains and impressive wilderness. I think it’s wonderful that you can enjoy the grand beauty of nature and at the same time have access to cosmopolitan and modern city life. I could just imagine having a grand time sightseeing around the city and taking a stop at a well recommended Restaurant Calgary.

It would also be nice to explore another city like Toronto. I have heard of the many great attractions found in this city like Toronto’s waterfront. I’ve seen how this beautiful place makes an awesome backdrop, especially for tourists who want to have great photo souvenirs of Toronto. You can also find Canada’s biggest zoo in this city and many interesting museums and galleries. After a nice tour, you can try the interesting and delicious cuisine in a Restaurant Toronto.

Vancouver is another great place in Canada. I have heard that you can have everything imaginable in Vancouver. You can enjoy Vancouver’s breathtaking gardens and historic landmarks, shopping districts, fine dining and many local attractions. Vancouver’s rich cuisine experience draws many tourists from different countries. Check out any Restaurant Vancouver and enjoy a gastronomic experience.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usIf you need a helpful guide about anything in Canada, check out this helpful site called Canpages. It’s very useful and easy to use. Just choose from business search, people search, reverse lookup and map search. Just type the keywords that you are looking for and be amazed at the generated results. It makes any search so much easier.
