I woke up to the sound of the television. My hubby was up as early as 2:30 a.m. to watch the live telecast of the Spain vs Netherlands FIFA championship. He was ecstatic when Spain made a goal. The winning goal was delivered by Andres Iniesta. Congratulations to Spain for winning their first ever FIFA World Cup. Viva España!  It’s amazing that Paul the Octopus was right again.

Swimming for Beginners

Yohan is going to have his mini soccer cup this coming Sunday. I’m sure he will miss his coach and soccer mates after that. I hope he won’t feel too lonely because I recently enrolled him in another summer activity … swimming. Hubby and I took advantage of swimming lessons in a nearby village. The village is still part of our community so it’s barely 5 minutes away.  We enrolled Yohan in the Tadpole (swimming for beginners). Yohan had two lessons already.  I’m confident he will be more confident in the water as the lessons progress.

Enjoying Soccer

I’m happy that my son is enjoying soccer.  It was a good decision to enroll him in soccer this summer. Although I admit I wasn’t too keen on the idea at first but hubby (who also plays soccer) insisted that we let our son choose the sport he wants. It’s great exercise for my son and the sport is a wonderful way to teach my son the essence of team work and camaraderie.  They will have a mini soccer cup two weeks from now. I’m excited to watch my son in action.

Summer Activities for Kids

Filed under: Education, sports — Tags: — rachel @ 5:12 pm

It’s already summer vacation for most kids.  Make summer fun and productive for your children by enrolling them in a good summer program.  Sit down with your child and discuss about possible summer activities.  There are many great summer programs to choose from depending on a child’s interest.

  • Sports -  There are many sports clinics that aim to involve children into different sports. Among the popular choices are swimming, tennis, basketball, badminton, soccer and martial arts (e.g. taekwondo, karate).
  • Arts and Crafts - Creativity can be enhanced in programs such as painting, sculpting, pottery and more.
  • Advance Subjects - You can enhance what your child has learned in school or prepare him for the next school year by enrolling your child in advance English, Math and Science.  For preschoolers, there are classes that help young kids appreciate the alphabet and numbers by incorporating fun activities.
  • Personality Development - There are programs that can help your child build his confidence. Drama classes and public speaking are great programs to consider.

Golf and Photography

Filed under: Info Corner, sports — Tags: , — rachel @ 10:00 pm

I have an uncle who has a passion for golf and photography. He is a doctor by profession. Despite his busy schedule in his clinic, he still finds time to enjoy his hobbies. He regularly plays golf with his buddies at least twice a week. When he goes abroad, he also makes it a point to play golf whenever an opportunity presents itself. I’m sure he would like to check out the Myrtle beach golf packages when he takes a trip in that area. My uncle also loves taking photographs of nature and people. I’ve seen his pictures and I admire his good eye.

Investing On Quality Golf Equipment

I noticed how golf is increasingly becoming a popular sport. In the past, golf was more of a sport for the wealthy men but now it has become available for more people, including women. Both my uncle and my aunt love playing golf. The sport has recently caught the interest of my cousins. I found out that my uncle and aunt recently bought my cousins their own equipment from a Golf shop. It is a sign that their whole family has embraced the love for the sport. I think it’s wonderful when the whole family appreciates the same kind of sport. It’s a great opportunity to spend more quality time with one another.

Golf is an interesting and fun sport for family, friends and even colleagues. In fact, golf has become a useful tool in business. Many people in business have realized the golf is an effective medium in making business transactions. Executives play golf and conduct business meetings at the same time. The casual atmosphere in the golf course makes business deals seem easier to discuss. Aside from business, companies sponsor corporate golf tournaments as well as charity golf events. It’s a good marketing strategy that brings attention to the company as well as the products it carry and services it offer. The attention generates positive client awareness.

Even residential communities incorporate golf courses to attract real estate investors. There are many residential communities with golf resorts today. It is a strong sign of how popular golf has become. Golf is now considered as a lifestyle that may individuals and families choose.

Many Golfshops answer the increasing popularity of golf by providing quality golf apparel and equipment to players. Even beginners in golf invest on good equipment for their game. If you’re interested in the sport, get into the Golf Mode now.

Golf as a Leisure Activity

Golf has become a popular leisure activity. It used to be thought of as a sport limited for the rich people but through the years more people have become interested in golf as an engaging and fun sport. Golf used to be exclusive for men but modern times opened it for both men and women. In fact, there has been a large growth of new women golfers. Golf is a great way for family and friends to spend their leisure time. Business people have also realized how effective golf is as a business tool. A lot of companies organize corporate golf tournaments and charity golf tournaments to entice their clients and at the same time provide a great source of leisure activity for its employees and business partners. Power meetings are sometimes conducted in the golf course. The informal atmosphere somehow makes it easier to discuss business deals.

If you are interested in this sport, the best way to get started is by taking up basic golf lessons. You can learn useful basic golf moves through professional instruction. Try looking for a good instructor to get you started on the right track. It also means acquiring the necessary golf equipment. You will also need to wear proper golf attire and proper shoes. Another main consideration is choosing a golf course. Many golf courses require a membership. If you’re not a member of any golf clubs, your golf instructor can probably help you set up a playing arrangement with a golf course. In Germany, you can check out Platzreife.

Check out Golfreisen for beautiful golf courses. It’s amazing how investors are integrating residential communities with golf resorts. It is a strong indication of how popular sport is among people. Golf has become a lifestyle of choice for individuals and even families.
