Movie Time: Knight and Day

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usI went on a movie date with hubby today.  We watched Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and and Cameron Diaz. I enjoyed the fun, exciting and high spirited scenes. I had a good laugh too.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz make a great tandem on screen.  They last teamed up in the movie, Vanilla Sky. In Knight and Day, the two experience a whirlwind of action with hints of romance and comedy. Many scenes were outrageous but I enjoyed them anyway.

Treat After Exams

Filed under: Education, Movies, Yohan's Corner — rachel @ 10:38 pm

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usToday is the last day of my son’s 2nd quarterly exams. I admire how patient and eager he was during our review time. I tried to make our review time interesting and fun by using colorful visual aids such as drawings and flash cards.

When he got back from school earlier, hubby and I surprised him with a movie treat at home. We bought a DVD of Ice Age 3. We were able to watch it at the movie theater before but it was nice to be able to watch it again in the comforts of our home.  It was a perfect bonding moment because hubby is on leave from work.

Movie Time : Disney Pixar Up

My family and I enjoyed watching the movie Up. It’s a great animated film. It has a lot of funny as well as touching scenes. I even cried in some parts. It’s a movie that I recommend for the whole family. I don’t mind watching it again. I’m planning to buy a DVD of it once it becomes available in the market.

McDonald’s is Featuring Ice Age 3

Filed under: Food Galore, Movies — Tags: , — rachel @ 11:43 pm

My son is excited about the upcoming Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs movie. Tomorrow is the first day of screening and hopefully my hubby and I can bring our son to watch the movie some time next week.

Last Wednesday, my family dropped by McDonald’s for a snack and we took advantage of their Ice Age 3 promo.  I have to admit I couldn’t resist ordering Twister Fries (one for me and one for my son). :) McDonald’s Happy Meal also features the cute Ice Age 3 characters.  We all ordered Happy Meal so my son was able to pick three characters. He chose Manny, Diego and Momma Dinosaur.

My Junior Shopper

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Yesterday, my family and I went to the mall to watch Yohan’s most anticipated movie of the year, Night at the Museum 2. We all enjoyed the movie.  It was so funny.

After the movie, we did a little shopping. Hubby and I bought Yohan 1 pair of jeans, three colored pants and 1 jacket plus a small toy.   You can see a photo of my junior shopper. :)

My son is growing up fast. He has grown taller and I noticed that his jeans and other pants are becoming shorter.

Weekly Questions #41

How did you spend Palm Sunday and what were your thoughts during that day?

I woke up early to have breakfast with the family then we all heard mass in the nearby church.  Hubby was given two palm fronds by his friend. They were simple palm fronds but I was impressed when I found out that his friend made them. We didn’t have to buy palm fronds outside the church anymore this year.

After the 8 a.m. mass we went back home. My son requested if we can go on a “date” as a family so we decided to go to the mall before lunch. We watched Monsters vs Aliens and had lunch at McDonald’s to take advantage of the Happy Meal featuring characters from the same movie.

It was pamper-me-day as well because I went to the salon while hubby and son went around the mall. I had a much needed haircut, cellophane hair treatment and eyebrow threading. The whole thing took several hours and I was so proud of my boys for being so patient.  :)

After the mall, we dropped by my MIL’s place to give her some”pasalubong”. She was happy to see us especially her “apo”.

Weekly Question #39 - Graduation Memories

What graduation memories do you hold dear in your heart and why?

First of all, congratulations to Julie’s eldest daughter on her grade 7 graduation.  Wishing her more promising opportunities in life.

I have fond memories of my Grade 7 graduation.  We wore our school uniform underneath a white toga. My friends and I were excited about the idea of HS. Our biggest concern at that time was whether we’ll end up as classmates again. My parents had a party for me at home after the graduation ceremonies.  I was thrilled because my long time neighbor crush came to my party. :)

HS graduation was a little emotional.  My friends and I had chosen different courses and different schools. We were both excited and also scared of transferring to new schools and meeting new people.

I decided not to attend College graduation.  My parents and my brother were already in the States at that time and I just didn’t feel like marching on stage without them.  I didn’t exactly feel bad or anything. I just went out with friends to celebrate that day.

Saturday Movie Time

I spent the day at home yesterday. I enjoyed a laid back Saturday watching some movies while hubby was out on a badminton tournament. When I checked the DVDs under the tv stand, I realized there were new DVDs that I haven’t watched yet. The first one I watched was a movie entitled, Taken starring Liam Neeson. It’s an action packed movie about a former spy (played by Neeson) who puts everything at stake including his life to safe his kidnapped daughter.  After this movie, I watched Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise. The movie is about the failed assassination attempt of German officers of the Wehrmacht against Hitler in 1944.  I enjoyed watching both movies.

Movie Time :: It’s All About The Women

I recently watched the movie, It’s All About The Women, starring Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Missing, Jada Pinkett Smith and Candice Bergen.

The story circles around four friends who find strength and comfort with another through life’s craziest and most difficult life situations.  I really enjoyed this movie.  In this life, true friends can help you rise over the most trying times.
