Filed under: Health, Info Corner — Tags: , — rachel @ 10:47 pm

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usMy husband recently visited a bee farm and bought pure honey and honey soap. Honey is not only a natural sweetener but it’s great for the health. Honey is a good energy booster, helps relieve cough and even bladder infections.

Honey soap is good for the skin. According to the bee farm owner, the honey soap is a good cure for various skin problems.  Honey soap is a perfect facial wash and helps control acne.  It’s also great for insect bites especially mosquito bites.

Prioritize family’s health

The health of every member of the family is very important. Everyone should prioritize good health at all times. Investing on a dependable health insurance company benefits everyone in the family. Don’t put your family’s health in the hands of a health company that you don’t know.  Make sure you get enough information about the health company before signing with them.  Check out established health insurance companies in your state like North Carolina health insurance. Study their health plans and choose the one that best suits you and your family. You’ll have peace of mind knowing that your family’s health is well taken cared of.

Benefits of having a nebulizer

Filed under: Health — Tags: — rachel @ 9:51 pm

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usMy husband and I bought a nebulizer last year.  We  used to borrow a nebulizer from a cousin whenever our son had trouble breathing due to cough and colds. We decided to get our own last year so that we can conveniently use the nebulizer whenever needed.

The nebulizer is a small apparatus that is used to help clear the airways and the lungs of a person. It is often used by people with asthma. Nebules (liquid medicine) is placed in a container. Once the nebulizer is turned on, the liquid medicine turns into mist which when inhaled helps clear the air passageways.

It’s nice to admire lovely dresses and blouses displayed on boutique windows. However, it’s sad when you realize that the dress or blouse you like so much doesn’t come in your size. It’s definitely not fun trying out clothes and ending up without a single purchase because you can’t simply find one that fits. Just like clothes, it is also important to find a health fitness program that fits you. The HCG weight loss Austin gives every individual a personal health approach. Each one is assessed to determine the most appropriate and effective weight loss program for that person. It’s good to have a tailored fit weight loss and wellness program.

Prayers and Blessings

“Prayers go up and blessings come down”

I’ve been worried about my son’s recurring fever these past few days. We brought Yohan to the doctor yesterday and found out it wasn’t tonsillitis as earlier presumed. The doctor requested for some lab tests. I There were a lot of sick kids and I was told that dengue cases are rising. I really hope that a vaccine for dengue can formulated soon because it has become a huge health threat in the country.

We got the results after less than an hour. I’m grateful that the lab results came out normal. The doctor said to continue observing our son but I’m very optimistic everything will be alright. God is good.

Not So Good Weekend

My weekend didn’t go so well because my son had on and off fever.  We had to miss two parties lined up for the weekend due to my Yohan’s condition. Hubby and I stayed home taking care of our little boy.  Yohan felt a little better by Sunday evening. We decided not to let Yohan go to school the next day so he could rest. He had fever again on Monday afternoon but it soon disappeared after we gave him a dose of paracetamol. We noticed that Yohan has inflamed tonsils.

Yohan is feeling better this morning so I let him go to school today. However, I feel restless thinking about him.  Hubby and I are bringing him to the doctor later to be certain if he has tonsillitis or not. I don’t want to make my own diagnosis. I think it’s best if he sees a doctor so that he can be prescribed the proper medicines. I just hope and pray that his fever won’t come back anymore.

How to Take Blood Pressure (BP)

Last weekend, I learned how to take blood pressure (BP) using a sphygmomanometer. I thought it was complicated but my sister-in-law taught me the process in a matter of minutes. My mother-in-law let me borrow her sphygmomanometer so I could practice at home.

Here are the steps on how to take BP using a sphygmomanometer:

  1. Let the person sit down comfortably.
  2. Push the person’s sleeves up to reveal the arm.
  3. Wrap the cuff of the sphygmomanometer on the upper arm. Make sure it is just over the crook of the elbow. Make sure the gauge faces you for easy reading. Secure the cuff with its velcro or clip.
  4. Feel the brachial pulse and place the stethoscope over that area. Put on the ear pieces of the stethoscope.
  5. Make sure the valve is close. Begin squeezing the rubber bulb until 180-200mmHg on the gauge.
  6. Gently open the valve a little and listen to the brachial pulse.
  7. The first Karotkoff sound you hear is the systolic pressure. Continue deflating until you don’t hear the Karotkoff sound anymore.  The last sound is the diastolic pressure.
  8. Open the valve completely to release pressure.
  9. Repeat process if you did not hear the Karotkoff sound properly.
  10. A person’s age and health usually determines the appropriate blood pressure. Consult a physician to determine the right BP for you.
