It’s the first day of September. In the Philippines, September is a sign that Christmas is fast approaching. We call the months starting from September as “Ber months”. I expect to hear Christmas songs on the radio. It’s the best time to start making the Christmas list. I already started with mine. In fact, I already bought some Christmas gifts for my nephews and nieces.
My mom just bought me two Long Champ Le pliage bags. She bought me a medium red one with short handle. I love it! She also bought me a large chocolate Le pliage with long handle but I don’t have a picture right now. It’s perfect because I love big bags. Both bags are still with her and she’ll have it shipped in a box together with some other stuff. I’m excited to get my two new bags. Thanks Mom! You’re the best.
Tomorrow is the 90th birthday celebration of hubby’s grandmother. It’s a big gathering of family and friends. Ninety years is an amazing milestone worth celebrating. My little boy prepared a short recitation dedicated to his grandmother. As one of our gifts, we bought a sign frame with the celebrant’s picture and printed words saying “Celebrating 90 years of blessings.” I’m going to pass it around so guests can sign it. I hope hubby’s grandma will like it.
My son is turning 7 years old this coming Sunday. He won’t have a big party at home. We’ll just have a small birthday celebration at home. In lieu of a birthday party, I’m fulfilling his wish. I got him a Play Station 3 plus games. It’s hidden at the other room. I’m going to wrap it later. He also has a big surprise gift coming soon. It is still in transit and might arrive 45 days from now.
Hubby will bake cupcakes for his birthday celebration at home. I will attempt to make my own cupcake stand. I saw a good DIY cupcake tower tutorial online. I hope I can find the materials later so I can start with the project today.
Tomorrow is my son’s advance birthday celebration in school. I’m a little worried because there’s a storm right now. I’m hoping classes will not be suspended tomorrow.
These are my son’s birthday giveaways for his classmates. They are miniature pots with wooden clips in various shapes. There are land animals, sea creatures and insects. I personalized it by clipping a printed name of each of Yohan’s classmates. I placed them in clear plastic and tied them with yellow ribbons.
Here are the nice souvenir items I got from Manila Ocean Park. I bought the shirt with jelly fish design for hubby and the small shirt with turtle print for my son.
Yohan is fascinated with stingrays. I couldn’t say no when he asked for the stingray stuffed toy. He also chose a little red crab and a small turtle ref magnet. 
It’s always touching to receive gifts during special occasions. The thought is more important than the value of the gift. I really appreciate gifts with personal touches because it means that the person took time to make the gift extra special. A personalized gift is something that the recipient will surely appreciate. Customized gifts are very memorable. It doesn’t have to be expensive at all. The meaning of the gift outweighs its monetary value. My brother gave me a laptop for my birthday two years ago. It was a thoughtful and generous gift. I still have my trusty old desktop at home. In fact, my son enhanced his reading skills through online educational reading programs. Yohan is turning seven years old this coming July. He is asking for a nice gift in lieu of a big birthday party. He wants his own laptop for his birthday. I’m considering buying him a netbook as a birthday present. I can also use it from time to time. Since it’s very handy, I can easily bring it with me when I go out.
My son is celebrating his 7th birthday next month and he’s asking for a Play Station 3 as a birthday gift. I’m thinking of buying him one. I’m considering to get the Play Station 250 GB System so it can store more games, music, videos and photos. I already started comparing prices and I found a good deal in Greenhills. The price is relatively cheaper compared to most malls. It’s funny because hubby is also excited about it. I think the boys will be extremely happy if I finally decide to buy one. I like it because it happens to be a High Definition Blu-ray player. It’s perfect because we don’t have a Blu-ray player yet.
