Friends Off to Canada

Filed under: Friendship, Info Corner — Tags: , , — rachel @ 10:50 pm

One of my closest friends since grade school is migrating to Canada with her family this February 2010. I feel sad because I wasn’t able to make it to her farewell party last weekend. My son had fever so I didn’t feel comfortable leaving him at home.  I wish my dear friend Kelly and her family a promising future in Canada.  I hope Kelly and her husband will have many wonderful opportunities now that they have respectively finished nursing.  They can take up additional medical coding training courses to enhance what they already know.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Yesterday I attended the book launching of In Another Dress, written by my blog friend, Annamanila. I’ve always been a fan of her writing. I’m so happy that she finally fulfilled her dream of writing her own book.

In Another Dress is a compilation of Annamanila’s stories and essay from her blog http://ode2old.blogspot.com/.

Gym Sessions With Co-Moms

Filed under: Friendship, Health — Tags: , — rachel @ 6:24 pm

I miss going to the gym with my other mommy friends.  I miss our fun Tae Bo lessons and Aerobics with twist of Hip Hop. I was hesitant when the instructor introduced the latter, however, I quickly realized that it was fun. I also miss going on the treadmill after our group exercise. It was my favorite equipment in the gym.

Trendy Maternity Dresses

Filed under: Fashion, Friendship, Info Corner — Tags: — rachel @ 12:54 am

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usI received wonderful news from my best friend a few weeks ago. She had an ultrasound and she learned that she’s going to have a baby girl.  She shared the good news to me as soon as she found out.  I’m very happy and excited for her.  She’s in her 6th month pregnancy and her tummy has gotten big already.

Last weekend, my best friend attended a formal occasion with her hubby. She went shopping for Trendy Maternity Clothes and found a nice dress for the evening event.

Who says pregnant women can’t be hip and fashionable? Expectant mothers can still look their best and wear beautiful clothes.   I see many pregnant moms looking lovely and fashionable in their maternity dresses.

Looking for nice casual wear for expectant moms? Check out Juicy Maternity.  They have a lovely line up of Juicy Couture Maternity clothes. They have a great selection of casual wear to suit hip moms of today. Expectant moms can feel and look their best.

Ingrid and Isabel carries Everywear Pant, Ruched Tank, and Everyday Cami.  The latter ones are perfect for layering.   The Everywear Pant is versatile because you can wear it folded up or down.  Pregnant women can look great without sacrificing comfort.

A Hearty Lunch

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Last Wednesday, my friend, Siony treated my family to a nice lunch at Max’s.  She also brought along her daughter, Colenn who happens to be Yohan’s classmate in Kindergarten. We celebrated three special occasions: her birthday, my hubby’s birthday and her wedding anniversary. It was a post celebration of all those special occasions.  Siony misses her husband who works as a chef in a luxury cruise ship so she decided to celebrate their day as well.

It was a hearty lunch. We ordered Max’s friend chicken, pancit and my favorite kare-kare (a popular Filipino dish).  We didn’t have room for dessert so we skipped it.   If I keep having luncheons like this, I would have to resort to taking pills for diet.

My College Buddies

Filed under: Friendship — Tags: — rachel @ 4:30 am

It was a long weekend because Monday was a special non-working holiday to commemorate the Edsa Revolution. Two old college friends, Jane and Gary decided to come over and give me a visit. They brought Pancit Palabok (some kind of asian noodles) and native delicacy called Pichi Pichi. Yummy!

It was wonderful seeing them again. We talked about the good old days and some memorable highlights in school.  Despite the years, Jane and Gary still have their great sense of humor intact. I wish we could see each other more often.

Friends

Anger is only one letter short of danger

If someone betrays you once, it is his fault;

If he betrays you twice, it is your fault.

Great minds discuss ideas;

Average minds discuss events;

Small minds discuss people.

He, who loses money, loses much;

He, who loses a friend, loses much more;

He, who loses faith, loses all.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature,

But beautiful old people are works of art.

Learn from the mistakes of others

You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.

Friends, you and me…

You brought another friend…

And then there were 3…

We started our group…

Our circle of friends…

And like that circle…

There is no beginning or end…

Yesterday is history.

Tomorrow is mystery.

Today is a gift.

So now, let’s see how many circle’s of friends we can make by simply adding your link on this Friendship Meme! 1-Catsy Carpe Diem, 2- Catsy Downloads, 3-Out of the Blue, 4- A Day to Savor and Relish 5- A Piece of Idea 6- Write Shy 7- Stupid Wise 8-http://onlinememorylane.blogspot.com/ 9 - http://www.jk-nocargo.blogspot.com/ 10- Teacher’s Corner 11- Abby of Mom and the City 12 - Soulful Thoughts
