Weekly Question #33

Consideration to others for me is about courtesy.

It does not entail people to bow their heads in reverence to other people, not its not that.

Consideration encompasses not just respecting the opinions of other people, recognizing their personal space and doing things not just for your own benefit but for the benefit of others too. It shows in courtesy, knowing that there are other people besides yourself.

One of the things I don’t like to see are people who show (intentionally or unintentionally) actions that clearly do not show the proper decorum, especially when they are in public.

Take a look at this photo I took last week while I was waiting for my to-go order from a popular local food chain:

What would you do if you see this in a restaurant?

I realized that there are a lot of inconsiderate people.  I’ve witnessed a lot of similar incidents (referring to photo above). It’s sad how some people do not practice good manners in public.

If I see a similar situation in a restaurant, I don’t think I would do something about it. People should be conscious that this is against good hygiene practice.

Here are a few more inconsiderate things/behavior that annoy me:

  • toilets that are not flushed properly
  • people using their cellphones inside the movie theater
  • people talking loudly inside the movie theater
  • persons cutting into the line
  • grocery carts abandoned precariously at the parking lot

Care to share yours?

  1. I definitely agree with the above-mentioned behaviors. I love theaters here in the US where they remind everyone in a form of a preview before the feature starts. It reminds everyone to put their phones on silent more or turn it off because it is rude.
I also agree with the toilets. Gah! I’ve seen a lot of unclean toilets in the Philippines that I would never try to go in a public restroom and prefer to hold it in as much as possible.

    My answer is up!

  2. Yes, the one you mentioned are annoying. Isama mo na diyan yung mga nagse-cellphone sa church and those parents who let their children play in places where they are not supposed to play.

Grocery carts left near cars or in the middle of a parking lot is tops in having an accident waiting to happen.

There are things we just have to shrug our shoulders but there are some things that should be given some notice especially if the action will affect/is affecting other people.

Thanks Rachel and I hope we don’t get to encounter a lot of people like these :D
