I saw this chrysalis fastened to a leaf in our garden. At first I feared that it’s cling will loosen due to the constant rain. Despite the persistent rain, it remained strong. I admire how something that looks so fragile can withstand a heavy downpour.
After ten days, something lovely emerged from the chrysalis. The caterpillar has transformed into a beautiful butterfly. It’s an example of life’s amazing changes.
A few weeks ago my husband had my MIL’s car checked. My MIL is in the States for a vacation so he occasionally drives her car while she’s away. When hubby was driving, he noticed that the temperature inside the car was taking too long to cool. He took the car for a check up and found out that there is something wrong with the automotive a/c compressor. After a few hours at the mechanic the problem has been fixed. Now its a/c is back to normal.
Letting go of something or someone you care for is hard. However, there are times when you have to let go to ensure a brighter future. If letting go equates to a life of happiness, how can you say no?
My son’s caterpillar has emerged from its chrysalis. The green caterpillar transformed into a pretty brown and yellow butterfly. Yohan wanted to keep it but I told him that if he wants his butterfly to be happy, he needs to set it free. He let his butterfly go the very same day it emerged from its chrysalis. I’m very proud of my boy.
I spend a lot of time in front of the computer and it has somehow affected my eyesight. My eyes get tired easily. I realized that long computer hours can be a strain to the eyes. I need to have my eyes checked by an ophthalmologist soon. I might be needing reading glasses.

I just came from the hospital to visit my SIL. She had an operation around two weeks ago but she has been admitted back to the hospital due to severe weakness. She could hardly get up. Her CBC results show that she has anemia and needs immediate blood transfusion. My husband and I went to the hospital to donate blood. We filled out some forms. The nurse took our blood pressure, temperature, heart rate and weight. I was shocked to learn that I’ve gained more weight. I might need to take effective diet pills to lose some weight. After several minutes we were examined by the doctor. He asked us some questions based on the information sheet we answered. It turned out that I could not yet donate blood as of the moment because I just had my period and I recently suffered from flu. My husband donated 450 ml of blood. It just took around 10-15 minutes. I stayed by my hubby’s side all the time. He was fine after the blood donation. He was even the one who drove us home.
Our family loves eating pizza. In fact, my husband, Jules enjoys making simple pizza at home. We often buy ready made frozen pizza crust at the mall. It’s convenient to have ready made pizza crusts in the freezer for those spur of the moment pizza cravings. Among our favorite pizza toppings are ham, cheese, pepperoni, pineapple and some bell pepper. Good thing there are ready made pizza sauces that can be bought at the grocery. It makes pizza making fast and easy.
We consider making pizza as a fun family activity. Yohan loves helping his Dad put the pizza toppings. I think that’s the part that he really enjoys the most. I love helping out too.
When Jules is in the mood he makes his own pizza crust. Making the dough takes a lot longer but I love watching him and my son spend quality time at the kitchen. Seeing them laugh while making home made pizza is very rewarding. I think it would be nice to have one of those Pizza Ovens.
Jules enjoys watching his favorite chef, Jamie Oliver. There was an episode where Jamie Oliver made this delicious pizza with different kinds of cheeses. He used one of those Woodburning Stoves and the pizza looked so mouthwatering.
The month of September is close to an end. I could feel the cold light breeze at night. An indication that Christmas is just around the corner. In fact, the other day, I heard a Christmas song being played at the mall. Some stores at the mall have lovely Christmas displays by their windows. Some stores are already selling Christmas trees and all kinds of Christmas ornaments. When I went to the bookstore, I saw a section of Christmas greeting cards on display.
I guess it’s a good time to start the Christmas list. I have a notebook where I list all the gifts I give to family and friends. I also write down all the gifts I receive from special people. I love going through my “Christmas notebook”. This notebook is very special to me and I have kept it all these years. I really enjoy going through it and updating the notebook every year. It certainly brings back many wonderful memories of past Christmas seasons.
When I opened my Christmas notebook recently, I discovered an old Christmas card with a photo from my uncle and his family. The photo was taken last Christmas behind their lovely fireplace. There were Christmas stockings hanging near their fireplace. The stockings had their names on it. I love the personalized touch of those hanging Christmas stockings.
My aunt who lives in the States has one of those Electric Fires. I’ve never been to her house but she a couple of photos. I like the contemporary look of her fire place. At first I did not know that her fire place runs on electricity because the flames seemed so realistic. I’m fascinated by the coal effect bed.
I find fire places very romantic. I have read a lot of romance novels with romantic scenes set by the fire place. The inviting warmth of Gas Fires make it an ideal place for a nice romantic moment. I think fire places are also perfect for family bonding. I love the thought of staying by the fire place to exchange stories and reminisce about memorable moments. I think it would be fun to do some marshmallow roasting while drinking hot chocolate near the fire.
I’m saddened by the reality that many teenagers are tempted to try drugs. Sometimes teenagers become hooked on drugs due to curiosity, personal problems and in some cases, peer pressure. The youth is the future of every nation. Action should be done to help these young people. Their lives can be saved if they can be brought to a proper drug treatment center for drug rehabilitation.
