This our pet fish, Nikki. She’s a Flower Horn fish. Nikki is almost five years old. We had her when our son was just a few months old.
Here are some interesting information about Flower Horns.
- They aer considered by the Chinese as an auspicious fish.
- The forehead or “Nuchal Hump” is the main attraction of the Flower Horn. It is a characteristic that is much sought after.
- A big, round and developed head is a symbol of good luck, prosperity, longevity and happiness.
We used to have another Flower Horn with red and pearl scales with Chinese-like character markings but he passed away.
Our family loves pets. We have a dog, birds and fish. We also had turtles before. Having a pet is a big responsibility. Before choosing a particular pet, it is advisable to read about helpful information that can help you choose the ideal pet for your family and lifestyle.

Rachel, I used to keep goldfish in a very large tank. Now my nephew has the tank and a couple of old goldfish that are doing quite well! Your fish looks happy and healthy!

Hi Rachel, It’s my first time seeing a fish with a bump on the head. You must have taken care of Nikki so well to last 5 years.
