Misty Dawn has started a wonderful meme and here’s my first entry for Camera Critters. This was taken at the zoo a few years ago. It was my son’s first time at the zoo and it was his first time to see a real peacock. A male peacock in full plumage is such a breathtaking sight.

  1. I LOVE peacocks. She are so beautiful. When we moved here to Missouri, we were visiting one of my husband’s family members and they had a peacock in with their chickens! I was so surprised, and I asked, “How in the world did you end up with a peacock???” She explained that they had seen this peacock wandering around in a field along the road for several days. Eventually, they realized that it would not make it on its own, because the weather was turning cold and it wouldn’t have food. So, they captured it and built shelter for it and feed it. It is SO neat! It is also obvious that it is happy with its home now… but I can’t help but wonder where it came from.

This is a great post for Camera-Critters, my friend, and I am SO thankful to you for joining!

  28. That’s a great choice for a critter. Peacocks are so beautiful. When I was a kid people used to use them instead of dogs to guard their property because they were so noisy! lol I think I still prefer dogs, though, because they can snuggle better.
